JIDF Hears Back from Founder of Causes Application: It's "Network For Good's" Fault - "Palestine" now removed

The JIDF continues to meet Jewish supporters of Barack Hussein Obama in Silicon Valley who seem to be somehow tied to various anti-Israel, pro-Jihadist trends on the Web. The official response is that "Network For Good" is responsible for the decision to exclude Israel from the Causes donation system--- NFG apparently does not do business with Israel (along with Ukraine, Indonesia, Yugoslavia, Lithuania, Egypt, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Russia, Pakistan, Malaysia, Israel, Nigeria and Ghana.) ---because of their assertion that these countries are guilty of "high degrees of fraud." --A question to our young readers.... could you ever work for a company which doesn't do business with Israel for any reason? Especially when the company DOES do business with countries like Saudi Arabia, China, Cuba, (and even fictional nonexistent ones like "Palestine," etc? --just something to think about... here is the exchange:

Why does "causes" deny the existence of Israel and list a nonexistent "country" as "Palestine" thereby discriminating against ALL citizens in Israel (as they cannot use the app to make a donation?)

Political bias much?

David,
Thank you for raising this issue, which is very near to my heart as a Jew. I returned from my first visit to Israel a few months ago, and have a deep affection for the country.

The omission of Israel and inclusion of Palestine are actually two separate issues.

Regarding the inclusion of Palestine, it was unintentionally included because it is by default part of the list of countries provided by the software we use. Once the issue was raised we immediately overrode those defaults and removed Palestine, so you should no longer be seeing it in any dropdown on our site.

As for the omission of Israel, we explain the issue on our help page: http://apps.facebook.com/causes/help

We recently upgraded our payment processor Network for Good to be more robust and support international donations, but our payment processor decided that to minimize the risk of fraud we needed to remove support from 14 countries, one of which included Israel. We weren't excited at the prospect of having to block these countries, and are working hard with NFG to support them.

Let me know if you have any further questions, I'm happy to answer them.

Best,
Joe

Joe,
Thank you very much for your expedience and leadership in the matter. (You're the ONLY one that has responded, despite writing everyone.... and I mean everyone... involved with Causes)

Very interesting that NFG claims that high levels of fraud comes from Israel. Are there any stats which actually back that up? If so, are they available? Do you know who was responsible for this decision and what the basis was for it?

Many of the NGO's which do business with NFG are clearly anti-Israel, so this is an issue that must be pushed 100%.

I thank you very much for the removal of "Palestine." The irony of the situation was just a bit overwhelming. Interesting that the "high level of fraud" was not detected in the fictional (thereby FRAUDULENT) place called "Palestine" but for some reason Israel---the place where the world received the majority of its ethics and morals, is somehow associated with "high levels of fraud."

In any event, the pursuit of justice continues. Anything you can do as an insider to help us get to the root of precisely why this decision was made would be appreciated.

Sincerely,
David

THE JIDF ENCOURAGES ACTION TO GET TO THE ROOT OF "NETWORK FOR GOOD'S" ASSERTION THAT "HIGH LEVELS OF FRAUD" EMANATE FROM ISRAEL. WE WANT OFFICIAL STATS AND FIGURES AND ANY OTHER RELEVANT INFORMATION FROM "NETWORK FOR GOOD" WHICH BACKS THEIR DECISION TO EXCLUDE ISRAEL FROM THIS "CHARITABLE" ENTERPRISE
