The JIDF Launches "Face it, Facebook"

Today we have decided to launch a new project. It is very much a work-in-progress and we are looking for volunteers who can help "capture the hatred" by taking screen caps of content and sending it to us for exposure.

The name of the project is Face it, Facebook. It will require a lot of time and effort to document all of the hatred found and created on Facebook daily, but we are going to try to create a visual representation (with links) to all the groups listed in The JIDF Guide to Facebook Groups, since we do not feel the many of the people outside of the platform have had an opportunity to truly see what is happening there.

The JIDF is doing this in an effort to bring light onto the problem and to try to motivate Facebook leaders to take a more aggressive and proactive approach to the problem. We spoke to upper level management at Facebook, and they defended the presence a lot of this content as well as their system in place for its removal.

We are not doing this to break any Facebook rules or copyright laws, and will "cease and desist" if forced to. We cannot afford any legal trouble, but we feel it is of the utmost importance that Facebook can keep an open mind about what we are trying to do---which is, improve and help police their own system!

Every new company and enterprise leaves room for improvement. Nothing is perfect. We feel Facebook can do far more in helping to protect many thousands of its members by being more proactive against hatred and incitement of violence and murder.
