Announcement Regarding Membership to the JIDF

The JIDF is not an officially established organization by any means. We are a concept. A constant work in progress. We are new. Fresh. A month in the making (going over 3,000 years in the making.) We are not officially associated with any organization whatsoever. We do not intend to be. When we see organizations doing good, we celebrate those efforts. We are primarily a young group of internet activists who pride ourselves in efficient communication skills and prompt action---making us virtual movers and shakers of this new cyber world. We feel we are conquering important problems in which many of the other established Jewish organizations are just now trying to play "catch up."

There are no dues to be a part of the JIDF internet movement. There is nothing to sign. The only thing we ask is that you come by and check in often for updates. Feel free to contact us either through Facebook, YouTube, Myspace, Digg, Stumbleupon, Del.icio.us, email or whatever is the latest thing, and share with us important developments and information. We are always open to new things to share with our vast network of supporters. We are open to better ways to go about things. New tools. We fully understand that old forms of protest and making things happen do not always apply in today's world and to make things happen we must be connected and computer savvy to apply various pressure (where needed) to make change. This is why the JIDF has been effective in getting the attention of many to address our concerns and respond to them quickly.

One of our goals is to embolden our people and to create bonds between all Jews, young and old, religious and secular, etc.---who are directed by a moral compass which is in alignment.

We are debating about allowing comments on our site. What does everyone think? (We guess you can't really comment upon that, but let us know in the other areas.) While we are happy to deal with people directly in other areas, we recognize that we have many visitors from not-so-friendly territory and do not wish to be inundated with their hateful comments.

We are also looking for a logo and thinking about having a logo-design contest. Something with a Jewish Star, a fist, and computer perhaps? We are considering merchandise as well, whoever wins the contest (or whoever designs the best logo) will share in any proceeds made from that logo. We will be fair.

We hope all readers will keep us posted and will keep fighting the good fight. There are many great challenges ahead.
