"Jewlicious" and their Irresponsible Blogging

This morning, Jewlicious posted an article, suggesting "Settler Rabbi Endorses... Obama?" They are speaking of Rabbi Menachem Frohman and describe him as :

...one of the founders of the Zionist settler movement in Israel and the Chief Rabbi of the settlement of Tekoa stating that he believes Barack Obama is the only hope for peace in the Middle East…
They posted two endearing videos of Froman speaking of his high hope for Obama (which made me wonder if Froman is somehow deluded into thinking that Obama is Moshiach.) Then Jewlicious re-posted his entire pro-Obama manifesto-- in full.

However, they failed to provide any background info. on Froman. For example, Jewlicious did not show images like this, of Froman desperately trying to shake the hand of Hamas founder Sheikh Ahmed Yassin at a meeting in Gaza City, 1997:

They fail to use any quotes from this interesting JPost piece about him, such as:
  • Rabbi Menahem Froman.....spent the last 25 years meeting with Hamas and other Islamic leaders
  • Froman is generally dismissed as a luftmensch, a well-intentioned but hopelessly misguided dreamer
  • Froman acknowledges that all his efforts for a quarter-century have amounted to "failure," but blames the failure not on himself nor on Hamas, but rather he said, "the root of the problem is Israeli and American arrogance. If Israeli governments had grasped these opportunities, not only would a great deal of bloodshed been spared and there have been a cease-fire between our two peoples, but there would have been no attack on the World Trade Center" he says, noting that for a year or two before 9/11, he heard from several Islamic figures of their desire to level the World Trade Center, the symbol of American might"
  • Occasionally he even refers to himself in the third person
So Jewlicious uses this guy who meets with Hamas leaders and blames all the problems of the world on America and Israel as some sort of solid promotion for Obama. Seriously? This Rabbi wants to blame Israel and America for 9/11? Also, if he heard said "terrorist chatter" as he claimed, did he express that to authorities? Perhaps rather than blame America and Israel for 9/11, Froman should have spoken up to authorities if he didn't. Perhaps he should look at the root cause of Islamic terrorism.

To leave out the context of what this Rabbi has said and done is irresponsible since many others who read Jewlicious will be quick to use Froman so as to say, "see? even "settler Rabbis" endorse Obama!"

The JIDF's response, "yeah. "Settler Rabbis" who refer to themselves in the third person, shake hands with Hamas leaders, and blame all the world's problems on America and Israel ... FEH!"
