JIDF Letter to Mainstream American Jewish Establishment

Recently many mass emails to all the major "leaders" of all the mainstream Jewish establishment organizations went out. There was a lot of kvetching about the situation in the Middle East, why no one was speaking out about it, why Obama wasn't speaking out, about the mainstream media, etc. There was also a lot of loshon hora, fragmentation, etc. We asked to be taken off the list many times to no avail, so we figured we might as well opine. Here is the result:

Dear Friends,

We have bcc'd you all, but it's the same annoying list. Since it appears that we're never going to be taken off this list, we thought we'd opine as well. First of all, the mainstream media is dead. Stop kvetching about it and get with the 21st century. The IDF is, so you should too! How many of you are active on Facebook, Twitter, your own blogs, YouTube? Take control of your messages! Today we are empowered to do so much and we needn't depend upon the mainstream media.

Here is an article about some recent trends with technology. It appeared in the Jerusalem Post and the Jewish Internet Defense Force (JIDF) was mentioned.

We don't see any mainstream Jewish organizations using the online tools effectively.

Also, we don't see the point of Obama speaking out for or against anything. The guy isn't even in office yet! We didn't understand the ZOA's "puzzlement" over the issue, either, especially when it's pretty clear where he's going to stand.

Why 78% of Jews don't see this, is beyond us. We also agree that this promotion of the "2 State illusion" is pure insanity. The JCPA officially endorsed it back in February for some reason - this was after Hamas was elected into power-- what was THAT all about? Why fuel their hope to destroy us?

This endorsement of pure insanity meant that the American Jewish Committee, American Jewish Congress, Anti-Defamation League, B’nai B'rith, Coalition on the Environment and Jewish Life, Hadassah, Hillel, Jewish Labor Committee, Jewish Reconstructionist Federation, Jewish War Veterans, National Conference on Soviet Jewry, National Council of Jewish Women, National Jewish Coalition for Literacy, ORT America, Union for Reform Judaism, United Jewish Communities, United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism and Women's League for Conservative Judaism - EACH did their part to fuel the hope of our enemies to destroy us.

Another major problem is that the Jewish establishment pushes the MYTH that Fatah/Abbas are "moderate." Here are the "Fast Fatah Facts" we have pulled together for you to illustrate why pushing this myth also fuels our enemies' hope for our destruction.

All this infighting and loshon hora is also not right. Now is the time we must unify and get our acts together or we're really going to face dire consequences. Now is the time for REAL LEADERSHIP - and no more fighting, kvetching, and fragmentation.

The JIDF represents the future leadership of the Jewish people. Whatever is happening with official mainstream Jewish establishment organizations is beyond us, but looking at the talent and smarts of the future give us great hope. They understand the issues clearly and they certainly see the insanity of two state illusions and the promotion of extremists as "moderates."

It is our hope that the mainstream Jewish establishment gets with the picture.

Jewish Internet Defense Force
Leading the Fight

Having said all that, we also wish we would have stated that these indoor "pro-Israel" "rallies" are absolutely pathetic. Our enemies are far more organized, have tapped into their youth better, understand how to use technology better, and are far more vocal about their concerns than we are about ours.

If we were doing our jobs, the majority of the world would be on our side, but we see that we are alone due to the failure of Jewish "leadership."

Caring about Israel goes beyond somber "rallies" where people are asked to write checks to the same organizations that helped us get us into this mess in the fist place, by supporting the disengagement from Gush Katif!

The JIDF is available to help any Jewish organization which actually cares about and understands the issues to get with the picture. We understand the problems and what must be done to solve them.
