TIME Magazine, Only Bringing You One Side of the Story, Smearing the JIDF

In an awful TIME Magazine piece about what is going on online with regard to the conflict in the Middle East, Hamzeh Abu-Abed, who created a Facebook group, "Let's collect 500,000 signatures to support the Palestinians in Gaza," told TIME that he has received hate mail from us, saying, "They said I am a terrorist who should die.....We have been harassed by Zionists who hacked our group and called themselves the Jewish Internet Defense Force."

We categorically deny this allegation.

We would like to request that Mr. Abu-Abed provide proof that anyone representing the JIDF in any official capacity whatsoever hacked his group, harassed him, or said such things, as none of our friends, supporters, fans, or members would do such a thing.

If no proof can be brought that anyone representing the JIDF said or did these things, then we would appreciate an apology from both Mr. Abu Abed and from TIME Magazine.

We are disappointed that TIME Magazine did not bother to get our side of the story so that we could get to the root of these false allegations and fully deny them.

Please write to TIME and let them know what you think of this injustice: letters@time.com

On related note, there have been many allegations throughout Facebook and the online world that we are involved in "hacking," "phishing" for passwords, or other illegal activities. We fully deny these allegations.

The JIDF is a non-violent protest group who share concerns about antisemitic online content, as well as content which promotes terrorism on sites including Facebook, YouTube, Wikipedia, Google Earth, Blogger, and other sites and forums throughout the internet.

We are a pro-Israel advocacy organization, presenting constant news and information to our many members and supporters through email, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Myspace, Digg, and other popular areas of the web.

We do not engage in many of the things our many enemies make up about us. Contrary to popular belief, we are also not Mossad.

In the future, we'd appreciate if journalists would actually take the time to contact us, or at least try to verify the absurd claims about us.
