In a first for Twitter, JIDF Tweets a Pitch to Hollywood!

The Jewish Internet Defense Force has always prided itself on innovative ideas in an effort to make things happen and promote Jewish pride and values.  As some of you recall,  we were behind the successful "Tweet4Shalit" campaign which helped get #GiladShalit known to the Twitterverse by getting his name to trend for over 24 hours straignt.

Now, we're proud to be the first to ever Tweet a pitch to Hollywood. The tweets, which came from the founder of the JIDF,  were as follows:

  • Judaism is a beautiful thing. More needs to be done to demystify it, decheesify it, and to expose the beauty of it.
  • and yes, i invented the word "decheese" or "decheesify" - means to remove the cheese factor and make something cool.
  • i want a cool judaism. i want a judaism that reflects old world tradition like what was portrayed in the godfather and goodfellas.
  • forget the goofy, cheesy, wimpy, shlubby portrayals of jews. i want to see tough jews. cool jews. jews who are religious & who fight back
  • i want a "24" with a jewish mossad agent type protagonist who dons tefillin w/out the cheesy "mess w/ the zohan" factor.
  • if you're the head of a film studio and think these things sound good too, i have a treatment in development for you.
David then reached out to Brett Ratner and major Hollywood studios such as Paramount, Warnter Bros, Fox Searchlight, Miramax, and Focus Features about his idea:
David plans to continue tweeting to the studios about this treatment. Will Hollywood react to this new innovative and "green" approach to pitching a film? Will they react to the themes we suggested? Will this be the beginning of "Tweet your Pitch" contests and trends on Twitter? Only time will tell, but it was certainly worth a shot! If you're a studio interested in our treatment, contact us here!
