We're great fans of Debbie Schlussel.  Beyond her breaking stories, she's one one of the few honest people on the right who is not afraid to point out the hypocrisy on the right, in her unyielding effort to improve the right.  Because of this, she has faced a virtual jihad from the so-called "conservative" (generally "Christian") blogosphere.

We feel at the root of the obsessive attacks against her lately is both envy and Jew hatred.

The envy is because very few (if any) of her attackers do original work or break stories, and they certainly are not as smart as she is, nor have they accomplished nearly as much.  Regarding the Jew hatred, it's no secret that it is on the rise in general, and this means within the right wing as well.  The obsessive and irrational attacks on Debbie Schlussel from the "Conservative Christian" blogosphere are generally by people who seem to either excuse or defend antisemites and/or jihad supporters on the right.  We hope to talk more about this in the near future.
