This is a nice piece about our work from the Hartford Times Examiner:

Cyber Security Chief hails work of JIDF
by Lori Mueller

The Jewish Internet Defense Force (JIDF) is doing a remarkable job in the fight against hatred and cyber terrorism, according to the cyber security chief of a private intelligence communications agency.

Kayla Cohen, Deputy Director of Cyber Security at Griffith Colson Intelligence Service (GCIS), who also serves as Deputy Chief of Machaseh Security Service (MSS), a GCIS unit in Israel, said the JIDF is leading the online resistance against hate groups and cyber terrorists who target the Jewish population and pose a threat.

“We are monitoring cyber threats around the clock at GCIS and MSS and in my job as Deputy Chief at MSS especially, the JIDF is one of the premier sources we look to for the threats that exist”, said Cohen in an email statement to the Hartford Times Examiner, “They are the modern day resistance in an age of technological based terror against Jews”.

Cohen cited the recent incident of ‘Kill A Jew Day’, saying GCIS was monitoring the situation and took major steps to inform federal law enforcement agencies, as well as Facebook, where the group had been posted. But, says Cohen, the JIDF was on top of it.

“We received a tip on the matter and deployed our cyber security unit to take action”, said Cohen, “We bombarded the Palo Alto offices of Facebook with emails and telephone messages and informed the proper law enforcement agencies with jurisdiction. I think the real difference is that there was a collective effort, clearly led by the JIDF. They are always on top of the threats against Jews online and we endorse and support their work and vigilance. They are the best safeguard online for Jews online”.

Cohen said she monitors countless sites daily, where recruitment for terrorism and hate groups take place. She said when it comes to her work at MSS, the JIDF is the primary source for the most critical threats against Jews online.
