Is Facebook Manipulating the Number of "Likes?"

As many of you know, we don't trust Facebook whatsoever. Considering all the facts about the company and the people behind it, no one should. They have gone out of their way to censor material they don't like. They have invaded the privacy of millions of their members. They allow Holocaust denial, Islamic jihadist content, as well as good ole' antisemitism, while they proactively target and censor Jews and Jewish groups. They automatically censor material based on nothing but mobs of certain types of people reporting it, with no independent review on their end.  They simply do not care about the privacy, safety, or security of their members, and especially of political activists with whom they disagree, on their site.  Beyond this, their platform is generally buggy and glitchy, and now? Now it seems they are manipulating the number of "likes" certain pages or content gets.

We thought we were noticing some strange fluctuations with the number of "likes" we were getting, as it seemed they would be higher at one point, then suddenly sink lower.  We weren't sure what was going on, so  the other day, we took a screencap of the JIDF site and we noticed the following:
As of right now, if you look at that same article, you will see:
20 people don't just decide to go back out of nowhere and "coincidentally" un-like an article they all liked!

Can anyone at Facebook explain how or why we suddenly lost 20 "likes" (or in our case "recommends") in a matter of days?  Given Facebook's record of customer "support" (or lack theroef), we won't hold our breath.

This is just one small sample.  How many times is this happening to our other articles?  Who else is this happening to?

Unfortunately, Facebook continues to be an important platform.  That's why we're still on it, but every single day we hope for them to go the Myspace way and we wait for something better to come along to kill it (along with the arrogance/lack of professionalism of the people behind it). Just remember for each minute you spend on Facebook, they are profiting greatly through advertising revenue.  It's best to try to limit your time on the site and be on the lookout for the next best thing.
