"...For R. Judah the son of R. Simeon b. Pazzi said: David composed a hundred and three chapter [of psalms], and he did not say 'Hallelujah' until he saw the downfall of the wicked, as it says, Let sinner cease out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Blessed the Lord, O my soul. Hallelujah." - BT Berachot 9b
And before you give us: Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thy heart be glad when he stumbleth" (Proverbs 24.17), realize that Haman (the villain from the Purim story) cited that exact verse to Mordechai in a similar way. Yet Mordechai rejected that application and explained the verse very differently (see Megillah 16a). Thus, it does not apply to a Jew-hating, America hating, enemy of Western Civilization like Osama Bin Laden.
....Love has its place, as does hate. Peace has its place, as does war. Mercy has its place, as do cruelty and revenge....Never, ever deal with terrorists. Hunt them down and, more important, mercilessly punish those states and groups that fund, arm, support, or simply allow their territories to be used by the terrorists with impunity.....No trait is more justified than revenge in the right time and place."
